General Rental Information
The renter and the driver have to be in possession of a valid driving license.
The driver has to be in possession of a valid, unendorsed driving license for at least 2 years.
An international driving license is not required, provided the original license is in English.
Please show a valid ID card or passport at time of pick up.
Special rental information by booking of Prepaid rates
A booking can be changed up to 48 hours before the start of the rental (on availability) in return for an alteration charge of 310.00 ZAR. Any payment already made towards the rental will not be refunded; nor shall any differential amount be refunded if this alteration leads to a lesser rental cost.

In the event of cancellation, the payment in advance already made towards the rental shall be paid back subject to a cancellation charge, which will be withheld and shall be in the amount of the rental charge ( including any extras and charges) for a maximum of 3 rental days. In the event that the booked vehicle is not collected or not collected at the agreed time the rental charge already paid shall be withheld in full.
Minimum age in South Africa is 23 and the driver has to be in possession of a valid driving license for at least 2 years.

We do not accept any prepaid cards or debit cards (Visa Electron).The rental charge (plus any other charges agreed such as, e.g. exemptions from liability, delivery charges, airport charges etc.) plus value added tax in the statutory amount applicable from time to time must, as a matter of principle, be paid in full for the agreed rental period, i.e. if the vehicle is collected late or returned early there shall be no refund.authorised driver details and method of payment will be confirmed at reservation stage and cannot be amended. The confirmed credit card should be valid and available for presentation on collection of the vehicle. All extra costs that occur during the car rental will be charged to this credit card.
By booking of a prepaid rate, the credit card will be charged before the start of rental, directly with the estimated total amount of rental. The amount that will be charged on your credit card comprises the price of rental as well as all additional extra fees.
The full rental amount and deposit will be due upon transfer of the vehicle. The exact deposit is determined on collection since the amount is dependent on the vehicle (approval of the amount of the rental cost, the excess applicable plus 2,000.00 ZAR for additional charges and deposit). General Insurance Conditions
Third Party Insurance (TI)
Insurance coverage for the vehicle rented includes Third Party Liability with a maximum cover of ZAR 5,000,000.00 for personal injuries and material damages.
Excluded from the protection is the use of the vehicle for the transport of dangerous goods. All protection as part of the rental contract will become void, in particular, if an unauthorized driver has used the vehicle or if the driver of the vehicle does not possess the required driver's license at the time of the event giving rise to claim.
Loss Damage Waiver (LDW)
All rates are inclusive of LDW.24,000.00 ZAR PFARCustomer is only responsible for the following amounts:

Glass Damage Waiver (GDW)
Tyre and Windscreen Coverage provides cover against the consequences of damages on tires, windscreen, side .windows and backwindow
The cost of GDW is as follows: all groups 35.00 ZAR per day
If GDW is not accepted, the customer will be held liable for the full value of damages to the windshield, side windows, rear-window or mirror glass.
If GDW is accepted, the customer is only responsible for the following amount: 0.00 ZAR

During Opening Hours
Up to 25 km a Delivery/Collection Service charge of 400.00 ZAR applies.
For more than 25 km 400.00 ZAR plus 10.00 ZAR per km will be charged.

Up to 25 km a Delivery/Collection Service charge of 750.00 ZAR applies.
For more than 25 km 750.00 ZAR plus 10.00 ZAR per km will be charged.

Cross Border Rentals & Territorial Restrictions
Cross Border Rentals are allowed to the following countries:
Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, Mozambique, Swaziland and Zimbabwe.
For each month or part thereof:

A written permission issued by the Sixt branch is mandatory to cross the border of Namibia, Mozambique, Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland and Zimbabwe.
Due to ongoing border policy reviews, please enquire in advance as to which vehicles may be permitted to cross the South African borders. Please note that restrictions also apply to certain countries.

When a vehicle is returned, we top up the tank irrespective of what the fuel gauge reflects. This ensures that each renter receives a full tank. Diesel.litre of petrol and 10.89 ZAR per litre
All our vehicles are equipped with an electronic toll device. This service allows automatic payment of all fees due for passing through any electronic toll barrier. Subscription is made at the counter at the beginning of the rental (pick up).

Other Fees and Taxes
Administation Fee For Fine
The renter is liable for payment of all traffic/parking fines occuring during the rental.
If the renter has a traffic/parking fine during the rental the renter will be charged an Administration Fee of 270.00 ZAR together with the first settlement-proposition.

A Contract Fee of 75.00 ZAR for each month or part thereof applies on all rentals.

In such a case, if you book with us at a quoted rate that is incorrect, we will notify you of any price change and give you the option to proceed or cancel. While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.
Vehicle capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
In the event of cancellation, any deposit amounts paid at the time of booking are non-refundable.
If you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
